Dear County of Hawai'i Councilmembers,
Please vote in favor of Bill 101, if any amendments just make it come into effect sooner please,
it's obvious what we need to do to protect the 'aina and each other. I know several people who
have gotten chronically sick and have myself felt a chemical burn, coughed all day and scratchy
breathing after a run at our County track in Honoka'a. I'm afraid of walking on the sides of the
roads in slippers, not cause of centipedes or glass, but cause of all the things I don't know about
these herbicides and pesticides, and I know the stories and studies from other places keep
coming in saying we should be concerned. I wonder about all our streams and waterways, think
about the keiki and it's just sad. Plain and simple we know better now, that age is over and we
can't let those guys call the shots anymore, there's better, more holistic solutions that don't offset
costs on each other and the planet.
