Message:
Salt is included in the so-called "Eco-friendly"products that are to be used instead of
herbicides. But, although salt may be a natural product, it could result in build-up under drier
conditions and have long-lasting, detrimental effects on soil structure and plant growth.
Salinity (salt build-up) problems have resulted in the collapse of past civilizations.

STRONGLY OPPOSE Bill 101 -Relating to Herbicide Use

Dear Hawaii County Council Members,
I Oppose this bill for several reasons.
1. Bans the Use of Producst to Control the Albezia Trees
2. Bans Product that help limit habitate for LIttle Fire Ant Populations
3. Removes important tools and choices to combat invasive plants and prenet noxius
weeds and invasive species.
4. I'm unwilling to bear the Cost associated with this Bill as a taxpayer.
Please consider the impacts of passing unfunded and un-researched Bills. What will be the real
cost to Hawaii County taxpayers $500,000 or $5 Million; The costs and impacts have not been
considered before submitting this Bill.
