RESOLUTION NO. 435 20
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO ALOHA `ILIO
RESCUE TO SUPPORT ITS SPAY AND NEUTER PROGRAM.
WHEREAS, Aloha `Ilio Rescue is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is
to reduce the rates of euthanasia and overpopulation of sad, neglected, and homeless dogs on the
Big Island; and
WHEREAS, Aloha Ilio Rescue provides animal adoptions, education programs, foster
homes, and outreach on the importance of spaying and neutering pets; and
WHEREAS, Aloha `Ilio Rescue is requesting funds for spaying and neutering,
microchips, vaccines, veterinary care, and food to help with its spay and neuter program; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Research and Development supports this project, which
falls within its community-building initiative to collaborate with community-based organizations
to balance economic, social, health, and environmental priorities; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code,
Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via
resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event,
activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now,
therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that
Contingency Relief funds from Council District 6 will be appropriated to the Department of
Research and Development to provide a grant to Aloha `Ilio Rescue for its spay and neuter
program.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby
transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this
resolution to the Director of Research and Development and Director of Finance, and that the
Director of Finance is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the
terms of this resolution.
