RESOLUTION NO. 439 20
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO ASSIST THE DEPARTMENT OF PARKS AND
RECREATION WITH EXPENSES RELATED TO THE HAWAII COUNTY BAND'S
ISLAND-WIDE PERFORMANCES.
WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation's Hawai`i County Band provides
music for parades, concerts, festivals, ceremonies, and other special events throughout Hawai`i
Island; and
WHEREAS, the Hawai`i County Band includes the West Hawai`i Band, which performs
principally in the Hamakua, Kohala, and Kona districts to provide musical enjoyment for
residents and visitors; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation is requesting funds to pay for
music, supplies, equipment, and bus transportation for the Hawai`i County Band; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that
Contingency Relief funds from Council District 8 will be appropriated to the Department of
Parks and Recreation for expenses related to the Hawai`i County Band's island-wide
performances.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby
transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this
resolution to the Director of Parks and Recreation and Director of Finance, and that the Director
of Finance is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of
this resolution.
