• ✓ M �IIly <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAII <br /> '. ,rE•OF*Aka' <br /> • <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 443 20 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNf AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO HOMELESS TASK <br /> FORCE FOR ITS OUTREACH AND ENGAGEMENT SERVICES. <br /> WHEREAS, Homeless Task Force is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission <br /> is to provide outreach and engagement services to the homeless community within their own <br /> habitat in West Hawai`i; and <br /> WHEREAS, outreach and engagement are essential services toward the ultimate goal of <br /> decreasing homelessness and guide the unhoused population to safe haven options of housing, <br /> drug and alcohol rehabilitation; and <br /> WHEREAS, Homeless Task Force is collaborating with social service organizations, the <br /> Hawai`i Police Department, the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney, businesses, churches and <br /> other agencies who are actively engaging with this target population to meet the.goal of <br /> improving the lives of those without homes; and <br /> WHEREAS, Homeless Task Force is requesting funds to assist with identification costs, <br /> food, bus and taxi fare, hygiene supplies to provide resources where they can further adjust and <br /> adapt back into the mainstream; and <br /> WHEREAS, one of the goals of the Office of Housing and Community Development is <br /> to provide for the development of viable communities in Hawai`i County by providing decent <br /> housing, suitable living environments, and expanding economic opportunities; and <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br /> activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br /> therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 6 will be appropriated to the Office of Housing <br /> and Community Development to provide a grant to Homeless Task Force for its Outreach and <br /> Engagement Services. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby <br /> transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
