'�tv os............ <br /> • <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAII <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 445 20 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO HOMELESS TASK <br /> FORCE FOR ITS OUTREACH AND ENGAGEMENT EFFORTS. <br /> WHEREAS, Homeless Task Force is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission <br /> is to provide outreach and engagement services to the homeless community within their own <br /> habitat in the West Hawai`i area of the Big Island; and <br /> WHEREAS, outreach and engagement are essential services toward the ultimate goal of <br /> decreasing homelessness and the Homeless Task Force will guide the un-housed population to <br /> safe haven options of housing, and drug and alcohol rehabilitation; and <br /> WHEREAS, Homeless Task Force is collaborating with law enforcement, the Office of <br /> the Prosecuting Attorney, public officials, businesses, churches, and other agencies who are <br /> actively engaged with the Honour program that recruits homeless individuals to engage with <br /> their surrounding communities to maintain a clean and safe environment for the Island of <br /> Hawai`i; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Homeless Task Force has requested financial assistance for its outreach <br /> and engagement services, including expenses for fees associated with acquiring birth certificates, <br /> personal identification, trash bags, gloves, and light refreshments for community clean up events <br /> with homeless individuals; and <br /> WHEREAS, one of the goals of the Office of Housing and Community Development is <br /> to provide for the development of viable communities in Hawai`i County by providing decent <br /> housing, suitable living environments, and expanding economic opportunities; and <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br /> activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br /> therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 7 will be appropriated to the Office of Housing <br /> and Community Development to provide a grant to Homeless Task Force for its outreach and <br /> engagement efforts and to support the Honour program. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby <br /> transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
