'�tv os............ • COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAII RESOLUTION NO. 445 20 A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO HOMELESS TASK FORCE FOR ITS OUTREACH AND ENGAGEMENT EFFORTS. WHEREAS, Homeless Task Force is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to provide outreach and engagement services to the homeless community within their own habitat in the West Hawai`i area of the Big Island; and WHEREAS, outreach and engagement are essential services toward the ultimate goal of decreasing homelessness and the Homeless Task Force will guide the un-housed population to safe haven options of housing, and drug and alcohol rehabilitation; and WHEREAS, Homeless Task Force is collaborating with law enforcement, the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney, public officials, businesses, churches, and other agencies who are actively engaged with the Honour program that recruits homeless individuals to engage with their surrounding communities to maintain a clean and safe environment for the Island of Hawai`i; and WHEREAS, the Homeless Task Force has requested financial assistance for its outreach and engagement services, including expenses for fees associated with acquiring birth certificates, personal identification, trash bags, gloves, and light refreshments for community clean up events with homeless individuals; and WHEREAS, one of the goals of the Office of Housing and Community Development is to provide for the development of viable communities in Hawai`i County by providing decent housing, suitable living environments, and expanding economic opportunities; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code, Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that Contingency Relief funds from Council District 7 will be appropriated to the Office of Housing and Community Development to provide a grant to Homeless Task Force for its outreach and engagement efforts and to support the Honour program. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:
