RESOLUTION NO. 446 20
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO ASSIST THE DEPARTMENT OF PARKS AND
RECREATION WITH EXPENSES RELATED TO THE WEST HAWAII BAND.
WHEREAS, the Hawai`i County Band was established in 1883 and has provided music
for parades, concerts, festivals, ceremonies, and other special events throughout the Big Island
for the past 136 years; and
WHEREAS, the Hawai`i County Band is a program under the Department of Parks and
Recreation, which also includes the West Hawai`i Band; and
WHEREAS, the West Hawai`i Band provides musical services to residents and visitors
throughout West Hawai`i; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation has requested funds for the West
Hawai`i Band for expenses related to bus transportation, music arrangement fees, supplies, and
for the purchase or repair of equipment; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that
Contingency Relief funds from Council District 7 will be appropriated to the Department of
Parks and Recreation for expenses related to the West Hawai`i Band.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby
transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this
resolution to the Director of Parks and Recreation and Director of Finance, and that the Director
of Finance is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of
this resolution.
