The Laborers' International Union of North America is the largest construction union in the United States. Mahalo for the opportunity to testify in SUPPORT of the Hawaii County Energy Code Bill No. 126. Hawaii LECET supports the intent of Bill No. 126 and would like to request minor clarifying amendments. To be consistent with section f31)and to provide further clarification in section(29) amend TABLE R402.1.2 of the International Energy Conservation Code as attached to this testimony. Bill 126 will ensure that the sustainability and safety benefits of mass wall construction are recognized in the revisions of the Hawaii County Energy Codes, as these revisions will help to create codes that are tailored to Hawaii County's unique climate,resulting in greater energy efficiency and cost savings.
