Thank you for the opportunity to testify in SUPPORT of the Hawaii County Energy Code Bili No.
126. The Mason Contractors Association of Hawaii supports the intent of Bill No. 126 and would life
to request minor clarifying amendments.
°I`o be consistent with Section 31 and to provide further claritcation ofction21, amend.Tonle
R402.1.2 of the International l Ener r - Conservation Code as attached to this testimony.
Bill 126 will ensure that the sustainability and safety benefits of mass wall construction are recognized
in the revisions of the Hawaii County energy Codes, as these revisions will.help to create codes that are
tailored.to Hawaii. County's unique climate, resulting in greater energy efficiency and cost savings.
