RESOLUTION NO. 453 20
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO ASSIST THE DEPARTMENT OF PARKS AND
RECREATION WITH EXPENSES RELATED TO THE WEST HAWAII BAND.
WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation's Hawai`i County Band, which
includes the West Hawai`i Band, provides music for parades, ceremonies, and other special
events to support and inspire traditional and emerging cultural, charitable, educational,
recreational, and economic activities; and
WHEREAS, the West Hawai`i Band provides musical enjoyment for residents and
visitors principally in the Hamakua, Kohala, and Kona districts; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation is requesting funds to purchase
music, supplies, and equipment for the West Hawai`i Band; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that
Contingency Relief funds from Council District 6 will be appropriated to the Department of
Parks and Recreation for expenses related to the West Hawaii Band.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby
transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this
resolution to the Director of Parks and Recreation and Director of Finance, and that the Director
of Finance is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of
this resolution.
