REQUEST FOR EXECUTIVE SESSION
Dear Chairman Chung:
Pursuant to HRS § 92-5(a)(4), we request attorney-client confidential discussion in
executive session to consult with the County Council on questions and issues pertaining to its
powers, duties, privileges, immunities, and liabilities regarding the above-entitled matter,
including a discussion regarding whether to indemnify Hawai`i County Police Officer Samuel
Jelsma.
We ask that this case be placed on the Council's January 8, 2020 agenda.
And, given that trial is scheduled for January 22, 2020, we also kindly ask that this
request be waived through committee as our pre-trial and trial deadlines are coming up.
