Re: Operating Budget
In the current Budget Ordinance 19-73, $150,000 is appropriated in the Police Department's Speed
Enforcement Grant account. Additional federal funds in the amount of$137,715 are being
provided by the State Department of Transportation to be used to fund speed enforcement
operations.
Enclosed is a bill for an ordinance amending the Operating Budget by appropriating these
additional funds into the Hawai`i County Police Speed Enforcement Grant account, bringing the
total appropriation to $287,715.
The Police Department requests that this bill be waived from the Finance Committee and be placed
on the January 8, 2020 Council agenda in order to expedite the receipt of these funds. If there are
any questions, please do not hesitate to call Hauoli Aiona of the Hawai`i County Police
Department at 961-2273.
