Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Bill No. 125, reports as follows:
Bill No. 125, transmitted by Finance Director Deanna Sako, via Communication No. 645 dated
November 27, 2019, amends Ordinance No. 19-74, as amended, relating to public improvements
and financing thereof for the Fiscal Year July 1, 2019 to June 30, 2020.
This bill adds the Public Works Plumeria Street Rehabilitation project for$4 million to the
Capital Budget. Funds for this project shall be provided from General Obligation Bonds, Capital
Projects Fund—Fund Balance and/or Other Sources. Funds would be for paving and
rehabilitating P1ulmeria Street in Honoka`a.
Council Member Valerie T. Poindexter thanked the Department of Public Works for putting this
on the list of projects. She stated it is time to negotiate when and if there is funding to get the
project done.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Bill No. 125, and
recommends its passage on first reading.
