RESOLUTION NO. 466 20
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A DONATION OF
TWO BOAT MOTORS FROM THE KUKIO GOLF AND BEACH CLUB
WHEREAS, the Kukio Golf and Beach Club is donating two 2014 150hp
Mercury Verado motors to the Hawaii Fire Department; and
WHEREAS, this equipment will be used for the Fire Department's Force
rescue boat at their Kailua Station; and
WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter provides
that the Council, on behalf of the County, may accept gifts of donations of money,
securities or other personal property or of real estate or any interest in real estate,
and Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2-162 (a) of the Hawaii County Code states that
any gifts or donations of money, securities, or personal property which fall within the
capitalization procedures of the Department of Finance, may be accepted by
resolution approved by the Council; and
WHEREAS, the Hawaii Fire Department recommends the acceptance of this
donation; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that in
accordance with Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter, and
Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2-162(a) of the Hawaii County Code, the Council of
the County of Hawaii accepts this donation.
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that a letter of appreciation and a copy of this
resolution be sent to Scott W. Nair, Kukio Golf and Beach Club, 87 Queen
Ka`ahumanu Hwy., Kailua-Kona, HI 96740.
