SUBJECT: Disclosure of Information
Pursuant to Council Rule No. 11, 1 am disclosing a distant familial relationship to the owner of
the parcel being acquired to by the County via Bill 131, which amends Ordinance No. 19-74,
relating to Public Improvements and Financing.
The owner of the property being acquired is Mr. Gilbert Aguinaldo. I call Mr. Aguinaldo "uncle"
as well as "manong" as a sign of respect, as we are both of Filipino ancestry and it is culturally
encouraged to acknowledge and interact with all elders — relative and non -relative — using
these titles.
As Bill 131 came before me, I inquired with my family as to whether or not there is any kind of
familial tie with the Aguinaldo family. There seems to be some kind of blood relationship
between one of his great-grandmothers and one of my great-grandmothers. The specifics are
unclear, but in order to be transparent, I would like to disclose this information.
do not believe this distant familial relationship would create a conflict with the public interest,
and feel that I can be fair and impartial. I would like to participate in discussions and voting
surrounding this matter.
