Your Committee on Finance,to which was referred Resolution No. 458-20, reports as follows:
Resolution No. 458-20, transmitted by Finance Director Deanna S. Sako,via Communication No. 685
dated December 20, 2019, authorizes the Mayor to enter into a multi-year Housing Assistance Payment
Contract with Ainakea Senior Residences, LLP, owners of Ainakea Senior Residences, for the Section 8
Project-Based Voucher Program as offered through a Public Notice dated July 26, August 2 and 9, 2009.
This resolution requests the Council to authorize the extension of the initial master agreement to
February 28, 2030, to continue providing rental assistance for up to 29 eligible elderly participants.
Council Member Herbert"Tim"Richards, III, noted a strong support of this resolution. He stated
Section 8 is what flags the need of housing.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 458-20, and
recommends its adoption.
