I am writing to express my strong support for 431-20.
As an individual and as Executive Director of Neighborhood Place of Puna I have been
involved with addressing the issues of homelessness for over 10 years now.
Though the community and nonprofits have successfully expanded the number of shelter beds
and emergency resources for homeless individuals and families, homelessness persists
The lack of affordable housing is one of the leading causes of homelessness in Hawaii County.
It is time that we step back and look at a wide range of solutions to address both housing
unaffordability and homelessness.
Please support resolution 431-20. Let's work together to find a path to creating affordable
housing for all our working families and households.
