Aloha,
After 14 years as a taxpayer in Puna offering eco-tourist community lodgings and volunteer
programs, our community and my home was destroyed in the Kilauea eruption.
I have received NO state or county assistance. Just FEMA money.
After being homeless I now live in rental housing after losing my entire net worth in one day
of lava flow.
Now I have a kipuka on my 4 acre property remaining. I would love to return and rebuild.
But the slow process of county road building means that Pohoiki Road and Hinalo Road are
still a long way off from being rebuilt.
I would like to return home,
I have paid so much in taxes to this state and am simply asking for the opportunity to go home
to my land, rebuild and become a taxpayer again.
Is that too much to ask?
