Honorable Council Members,
Mahalo for your caring work on Bill 101. The chemicals currently used on
our roadways and at our parks and schools are increasingly being proven
harmful. It is our Keiki, our Kupuna and our Pets who are being most often
exposed in this way, and they are our most treasured and vulnerable of
our Big Island Ohana. Each morning while waiting for the school bus, the
children, the toddlers, hapai mothers are all standing in the residue of
toxic herbicide spray. Childhood cancer rates are rising each year. Please
help us to move toward a Healthy 'Aina with our loved ones given the best
chance for healthy and happy lives.
