Additional state funds in the amount of$375,000 are being provided by the Enhanced 911 Board to be used towards the purchase of a backup generator for Fire Dispatch and furniture for Police Dispatch. Enclosed is a bill for an ordinance amending the Operating Budget by appropriating these additional funds into the Hawaii County Police Wireless E911Grant account, bringing the total appropriation to $1,875,000. The Police Department requests that this bill be waived from the Finance Committee and be placed on the February 5, 2020 Council agenda in order to expedite the receipt of these funds. Pursuant to Section 2(g) of Rule 4 of the Rules of Procedure of the Council of the County of Hawaii, this written request is submitted with my approval that the above-referenced matter be waived from the Committee on Finance to the full Council for immediate action.
