Aloha,
I am writing to submit my testimony regarding Bill 101 in council tomorrow, Wednesday, January 8. 1
STRONGLY urge the council to override Mayor Kim's veto of Bill 101.
In my neighborhood, I have seen pets, children, and beneficial insects such as honeybees suffer extreme damage
as a direct result of pesticide application on public roadways. I understand that it is important to be able to keep
certain areas (like roads and parking lots) clean and clear for common use, but there has to be a better way that
poses no threat to the vulnerable. Hawaii County can be a leader toward a pesticide free world, if we start now.
Thank you very much for your time. Please pass Bill 101 and ensure it is enforced until the very end,
