Subject: Testimony for Bill 101
To Whom It May Concern,
It has come to my knowledge that Mayor Kim wants to veto Bill 101, which would ban toxic herbicides such as
Round Up. As a resident of this beautiful island, it is important to me to keep this island safe from harmful
herbicides, and to preserve it's uncanny clean and vibrant environment. When we take care of what we put on
the island, we can keep the air, the soil, and the people healthy and thriving. Unfortunately, Round Up contains
glyphosate, a known carcinogen that has infiltrated into many of our food products, which disrupts the gut flora,
making it difficult for our bodies to absorb the nutrition we need. Several states and foreign countries have
already banned the use of glyphosate because of its known afflictions to our health. It is time that Hawaii follow
the lead and remove this harmful herbicide, as well as others, from use. I support Bill 101 to ban toxic
herbicides. Please override Mayor Kim's veto.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
Sincerely,
Shannon Christner
