Subject: Strong Support of Bill 101
Aloha council members,
You'll have received reams of testimony regarding this topic and will likely here much more on January 8th. I'd
like to add to my previous testimony on this bill that I would consider taking part in an advisory committee of
experts who could help direct the county toward better landscape management.
I'm a trained horticulturist, landscape designer and conskultant. I've been in the landscape industry in Dona for
30 years including owning and running a plant nursery where only earth- and people-friendly methods of
controlling weeds and pests was used. Our county doesn't need to reinvent the wheel to fulfill the parameters of
this bill, though I'm sure the many plant, landscape and science experts on this island can help find even more
ways to keep our public spaces and landscapes beautiful without using super toxic herbicides that make them
"clean"but unhealthy and unsafe.
Mahalo for giving your full support to Bill 101 and the protection of our `aina and particularly our keiki who
count on you and others in the County to look after their best interests.
