Date: Tuesday,January 21,2020 11:15:01 AM Aloha, I have some thoughts about the intersection of Waikoloa Road&Paniolo Ave. There is a lot of daily traffic up&down Waikoloa Road.Residents, like myself, can do their daily Village business without crossing the road.(I personally cross Waikoloa Road to get my mail at the Post Office when I wake up at tam.No traffic.)With the opening of the new shopping center this year residents will have to cross the road to get to the stores&restaurants.Under the current road layout, this will be a mess. The best way to handle this is to re-route Waikoloa Road to the Kona side of the new shopping center. Then the residents would not have to cross Waikoloa Road to do their daily Village business. Another good way is to finish building whatever extension is planned for Saddle Road to get to Queen K Hwy and take the bulk of the"non-Village"traffic off Waikoloa Road. Putting in a traffic light or round-about should only be thought of as a short term solution. If the heavy rubbish trucks coming from Hilo and the Pohakuloa convoys still travel Waikoloa Road to get to their destination, traffic and pedestrian safety will be always be a problem, Mahalo, George Lucas 68-1866 Pau Nani St. 3 Waikoloa,HI 96738 { Comm. o+ °L Ref.
