I am writing in support of Bill 131 and site#6 (corner of Highway 130 and 132) is the
BEST site. I come from a Certified Substance Abuse Counselor(CSAC)perspective and I can
tell you that many people who need substance abuse and mental health treatment in Hilo come
from the Puna District. Yes there is one program in Pahoa but can one program service all of
Puna?No. Many of them are without cars or legal transportation. I have seen many who
sincerely want to change. This transportation hub will help the revitalization of this district in
more ways than we realize.
