This letter is to inform the Hawaii County Council that the Mainstreet Pahoa Association supports the
Aguinaldo Property purchase for the purpose of establishing an initial "hub and spoke" Bus Terminal for lower
Puna.
As the primary business organization for Pahoa Village, we passed a motion of support for this facility that
would be located directly across Highway 130 from the Pahoa High School campus.
We feel like this centrally located site is well situated for larger coaches and midsized busses. It is adjacent to
Pahoa High School and thus will service students, commuters, local employees, shoppers, and visitors with easy
access to multiple routes.
This provides an expedient transportation system that will benefit the local economy with quicker commute
times and accessibility to more locations. We expect this will increase ridership.
It is our understanding that busses for these routes are arriving this spring and this location in Puna is ready

immediately. Puna needs these services now!
Please vote yes on this bill and help Pahoa and Puna in their recovery.
