Re: Mark Van Pernis reference for Hawaii Leeward Planning Commission
Aloha Mr. Chung and Council Members
I am a licensed Architect in,flawaii and currently a commissioner on the Kailua Village Design
Commission. I also served a term on the KVDC from 03/22/11-12/31/13.
During a portion of my current term on the KVDC,Mr. Van Pernis Nvas also a KVDC
commissioner. Mark was always well.prepared for the meetings and willing to speak up for the
good of the community. He was also a good listener and willing to work with a consensus that
was reached by the Commission as a whole.
I first met Mark in the middle of 2014 when he was representing a client/friend of mine in a
legal matter while I was providing Architectural research and advice to my client. My client was
well represented by Mark.
