Re: Operating Budget
In the current Budget Ordinance 19-73, $200,000 is appropriated in the Police Department's
HCPD Roadblock Program Grant account. Additional federal funds in the amount of$82,585 are
being provided by the State of Hawaii Department of Transportation to be used towards DUI j
roadblock operations.
Enclosed is a bill for an ordinance amending the Operating Budget by appropriating these
additional funds into the Hawaii County Police HCPD Roadblock Program Grant account,
bringing the total appropriation to $282,585.
The Police Department requests that this bill be waived from the Finance Committee and be placed
on the February 19, 2020 Council agenda in order to expedite the receipt of these funds. If there
are any questions, please do not hesitate to call Hauoli Aiona of the Hawaii County Police
Department at 961-2273.
