After the recent lava flows of 2014 and 2018, many people and many Pahoa businesses have been suff erring. Mainstreet Pahoa Association have been working hard with political figures, local businesses, local magazines and have been marketing like crazy to bring back business to Pahoa Village, Many businesses have folded, moved or have considering moving. In the next year or months, more businesses will fold and Pahoa village may be nothing but Q ghost town. We need a transit system to help Pahoa's economy YESTERDAY..... To get this project moving, the land, at the corner of Highways 130 and 132 considered as site#6, is ideal in my opinion, as it will keep the big buses out of the small town of Pahoa and keep them up on the highway. The consultant that the county hired did their due diligence of all the sites and choose and made the recommendation to site#6, which is already developed. Ia5k that you support this Bill. Puna has been waiting for this day to come and we have this opportunity now and don't want to lose this opportunity. Puna has been through a lot and site #6 is perfect and the new buses is coming soon as well next month. Pahoa and the businesses cannot afford to wait and have the new bus hub in the development phase and wait two years or more. By the two years, the businesses that the community and Mainstreet Pahoa Association has been f ighing for all these years will once again be for not. Please support the efforts of recovery by making this step forward. Many families, businesses and especially the keiki will be extremely grateful and appreciative. Mahalo for your time....
