The State of Hawaii, Lower Puna ` residents and the businesses that support the Lower Puna communities would tremendously benefit from an improved transit system. Demographic and census studies validate the need for this form of infrastructure development. The districts residents and governmental expenditures applicable to the existing Highways and roadways are of sufficient significance to justify this need. Highway 130 sucks the life out of so many residents pockets (in fuel, time, maintenance)and requires a great chunk of the States budget to maintain. The revenue generated in the transit system would be a tremendous added compliment to the resolution of this delima. Hawaii County would actually be moving in the right direction i and not only saving money for other needs but also putting money back into the bank and be reducing the carbon monoxide pollution from the burdening traffic. Please, please pass Bill 131 and fund the proposed mass transit system for not only Lower Puna but also for the State of Hawaii and the welfare of our planet and lives as a whole. Every step in the right direction grows our future success. Again, please pass Bill 131. It is the right thing to do. Maybe, some of the money that would be saved and revenue generated in the mass transit system could fix the botched traffic light and coning system at Pohaku/Shower...LOU! Thank you so much for your time, service and consideration. We sincerely appreciate your care for our community. i Blessings!
