Jwv os k,•. <br /> ���,G,;, ,• <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII •_ ` "'• /= ` STATE OF HAWAII <br /> ••� <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 512 20 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO HUI ALOHA '0 PUNA <br /> MAKAI TO SUPPORT ITS SUMMER WORKSHOP AND YOUTH ACTIVITY SERIES. <br /> WHEREAS, Hui Aloha '0 Puna Makai is a 501(c)(3) local nonprofit that strives to <br /> promote the well-being of the community through its educational programs that introduce the <br /> public to traditional Hawaiian cultural practices in the areas of language, food, crafts, and youth <br /> activities; and <br /> WHEREAS, Hui Aloha '0 Puna Makai is hosting a Summer Workshop and Youth <br /> Activity Series to provide Native Hawaiian cultural presentations and workshops throughout the <br /> Puna-makai community that are free and open to the public; and <br /> WHEREAS, Hui Aloha '0 Puna Makai is requesting funds to assist with expenses, such <br /> as guest speakers, advertising, insurance, materials, lunches, and other miscellaneous items; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Department of Liquor Control supports cultural and educational <br /> programs, activities, and events that are drug-free, alcohol-free, and improve the quality of life <br /> for Hawai`i Island residents; and <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br /> activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br /> therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 4 will be appropriated to the Department of <br /> Liquor Control to provide a grant to Hui Aloha '0 Puna Makai for expenses associated with its <br /> Summer Workshop and Youth Activity Series. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby <br /> transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
