COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAFI <br />�rE os,N��N <br />RESOLUTION NO. 520 20 <br />A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br />AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br />DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE HAWAII <br />ISLAND PORTUGUESE CHAMBER OF COMMERCE CULTURAL AND <br />EDUCATIONAL CENTER FOR ITS MALASADA SHUFFLE 5K AND FAMILY FUN <br />FESTA RADIOTHON. <br />WHEREAS, the Hawaii Island Portuguese Chamber of Commerce Cultural and <br />Education Center (HIPCCCEC) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that was formed to promote <br />and sustain Portuguese culture and heritage; and <br />WHEREAS, the HIPCCCEC will be celebrating its Malasada Shuffle 5K and Family <br />Fun Festa Radiothon on June 13, 2020, at Francis F.C. Wong Stadium; and <br />WHEREAS, the Malasada Shuffle 5K and Family Fun Festa Radiothon event is free, <br />open to the public, and will be featuring presentations, exhibits, demonstrations, food, dance, <br />music, contests, a 5K shuffle and radiothon; and <br />WHEREAS, the HIPCCCEC is requesting funds for advertising, flyers, posters, banners, <br />performer accommodations, and other event related costs; and <br />WHEREAS, the Department of Research and Development supports efforts to increase <br />knowledge and understanding of other cultures as well as the economic contribution of the <br />visitor industry to Hawaii Island; and <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawaii County Code, <br />Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br />resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br />activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br />therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br />Contingency Relief funds from Council District 6 will be appropriated to the Department of <br />Research and Development to provide a grant to the Hawaii Island Portuguese Chamber of <br />Commerce Cultural and Educational Center for its Malasada Shuffle 5K and Family Fun Festa <br />Radiothon. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby <br />transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
