COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAAICI <br /> '1TF oF•H►.�N <br /> I <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 5V7 20 <br /> 3 <br /> 3 <br /> I <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE PAHOA <br /> SCHOOLS SUPPORT FOUNDATION FOR EXPENSES RELATED TO THE PAHOA <br /> HIGH AND INTERMEDIATE SCHOOL HO`IKE 2020. <br /> WHEREAS, The Pdhoa Schools Support Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit <br /> organization whose purpose is to fund and promote educational opportunities at Pdhoa <br /> Elementary and Pdhoa High and Intermediate Schools; and <br /> WHEREAS, after a three-year hiatus, the Pdhoa High and Intermediate School will <br /> resume its annual H6'ike tradition featuring hula, chanting, cultural performances and displays, <br /> and a May Day ceremony; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Pdhoa High and Intermediate School H6'ike 2020 will also highlight <br /> traditional costumes and adornments for the May Day court and student hula dancers; and <br /> WHEREAS, The Pdhoa Schools Support Foundation is requesting funds to help defray <br /> costs for decorations, cultural attire, lei and adornments, and audio equipment for the Pdhoa High <br /> and Intermediate School H6'ike 2020; and <br /> WHEREAS, this project fits within the Department of Liquor Control's mission to <br /> support educational and cultural activities and events for our students that are drug-free and <br /> alcohol-free; and <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawaii County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br /> activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br /> therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 5 will be appropriated to the Department of <br /> Liquor Control to provide a grant to The Pdhoa Schools Support Foundation for the Pdhoa High <br /> and Intermediate School H6'ike 2020. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby <br /> transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
