Re: Resolution Creating a Position
The County of Hawaii was awarded federal funding from the Community Development
Block Grant Disaster Recovery Program(CDBG-DR) for lava recovery efforts.
Enclosed is a resolution creating one new grant funded Internal Auditor(temporary)
position for the Hawaii County Office of the Mayor. This new position is a requirement
by CDBG-DR to receive the funding.
The Office of the Mayor requests that this resolution be waived from the Finance
Committee and be placed on the March 25, 2020 Council agenda, and that the Council
waive their five-day hold-for-reconsideration period in order to expedite this transaction
to meet CDBG-DR deadlines.
If there are any questions, please do not hesitate to call me 961-8092.

this matter, timely approval is crucial. It is therefore advantageous that approval is granted and
the matter be placed onto the next Council agenda for review. However, in the event this request
is denied, for whatever reason, I understand the matter shall be referred to the Committee on
Finance for placement on its future agenda.
