Chung <br /> And Members of the County Council <br /> County of Hawai'i <br /> Hilo, HI 96720 <br /> Dear Chairman Chung and Council Members: <br /> It is my pleasure to nominate Merrick Nishimoto of District 6 to the Fire Commission. <br /> Mr. Nishimoto currently works as a Project Manager for Hualalai Investment, LLC and a <br /> former Deputy Director of the County of Hawaii's Department of Public Works. <br /> Mr. Nishimoto obtained a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering and a Master of <br /> Science in Structural Engineering both from Bucknell University in Lewisburg, <br /> Pennsylvania. <br /> Mr. Nishimoto was born and raised in Hawaii and is active in his community. He <br /> previously served as assistant and head coach for Konawaena High School wrestling <br /> team and currently volunteers for a local Credit Union as a member of its Supervisory <br /> Committee. <br /> Mr. Nishimoto states he is not a member of any political party.
