Support Bill 146
Aloha Council Members,
I would like to encourage you to support bill 146,which amends chapter 2 of the County Code.
There are still many households struggling to recover from the 2018 Kilauea Disaster and there is very
little assistance remaining. Bill 146 would create a pathway for the County to use State funds to provide
assistance and relief to victims of the Kilauea Eruption.
Many of the households who are still struggling are elderly, or medically fragile, or on a fixed income, or
otherwise displaced without the means to recover fully.
Disaster recovery is a long process and we are just at the front end of that recovery. Please support this
bill which will help the hardest hit individuals recover.
