A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT 3
AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT FOR THE 2020 SUMMER FUN PROGRAM IN
COUNCIL DISTRICT 1.

WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation's 2020 Summer Fun Program
provides arts-and-crafts activities, sports, and recreation for elementary students during the
summer break; and
WHEREAS, there are four locations for the Summer Fun Program in Council District 1,
which include Papa`aloa Park, Pa`auilo Park, Honoka`a Park, and Frank M. Santos Park
(Papa`ikou Park); and
WHEREAS, funds are needed to assist low-income families in the Hamakua district to
ensure an affordable opportunity for the children to participate in the 2020 Summer Fun
Program; and
WHEREAS,the Department of Parks and Recreation is requesting Contingency Relief
funds to offset the out-of-pocket costs per child for registration fees, transportation, and/or other
activities for its 2020 Summer Fun Program; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that
Contingency Relief funds from Council District 1 will be appropriated to the Department of
Parks and Recreation for its 2020 Summer Fun Program in Council District 1.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby
transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:

this resolution.
