JNZYfOF hry <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAIII STATE O1 HAWAIJ <br /> I <br /> -v <br /> tl'9.� Na MOt•'l� Y <br /> ATE OF M'� <br /> 3 <br /> I <br /> t <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 553 20 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRINGIAPPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE COOPER <br /> CENTER COUNCIL FOR ITS FRIENDS FEEDING FRIENDS COMMUNITY EVENT. <br /> WHEREAS, the Cooper Center Council is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that <br /> oversees the Cooper Center located in Volcano Village and whose mission is to bring the <br /> community together into a cohesive group through shared activities and projects; and <br /> WHEREAS,the Cooper Center Council serves various communities in Volcano Village <br /> and the surrounding area by providing a venue for meetings, community events, a weekly <br /> farmers' market, monthly feedings, and the Volunteer Company 19-Alpha Fire Station; and <br /> WHEREAS, Friends Feeding Friends is a community event held once a month at the <br /> Cooper Center, which provides a free dinner and packaged goods for those in need to take home; <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS, the Cooper Center Council is requesting funds to assist with the purchase of <br /> groceries and miscellaneous supplies to continue its monthly Friends Feeding Friends <br /> community event; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation supports programs and groups that <br /> provide services and opportunities that meet the needs of the community; and <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawaii County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br /> activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br /> therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 6 will be appropriated to the Department of <br /> Parks and Recreation to provide a grant to the Cooper Center Council to assist with its Friends <br /> Feeding Friends community event. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby <br /> transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
