RESOLUTION NO. 554 ZO A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRINGIAPPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO KEALAKEHE PROJECT GRAD FOR EXPENSES RELATING TO ITS 2020 KEALAKEHE PROJECT GRAD EVENT. WHEREAS, Kealakehe Project Grad is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization comprised of parent, student, and community volunteers who work toward providing a safe location for graduates of Kealakehe High School to celebrate with their friends and enjoy an all-night alcohol-,tobacco-, and drug-free event; and WHEREAS, the goal of Kealakehe Project Grad is to provide healthy and fun activities that will ensure the safety and well-being of the graduating class of Kealakehe High School; and WHEREAS, the 2020 Kealakehe Project Grad event will take place May 23-24, 2020, from 9:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m., at the Kekuaokalani Gymnasium, the Kona Community Aquatic Center, and the KBXtreme Family Entertainment Center; and WHEREAS, Kealakehe Project Grad is requesting funds to help pay for meals, various combinations of entertainment such as live band or DJ, dancing, bowling, swimming, gym activities, rock wall climbing, karaoke, arcade games, and other activities determined by the graduating class; and WHEREAS, the Department of Liquor Control supports organizations and programs that improve the lives of young people through supervised alcohol-, tobacco-, and drug-free recreational activities intended to promote growth and learning in a safe environment; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawaii County Code, Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that Contingency Relief funds from Council District 7 will be appropriated to the Department of Liquor Control to provide a grant to Kealakehe Project Grad to assist with expenses related to its 2020 Kealakehe Project Grad event. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: FUND: General AMOUNT OF APPROPRIATION: $2,000 OUT AND FROM: 010.101.5101.91 Clerk-Council SVC—Contingency Relief $2,000 CREDITED TO: 010.251.5251.39 Department of Liquor Control $2,000 Public Programs 115 Misc. Contract Services (2020 Kealakehe Project Grad event) BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this resolution to the Director of Liquor Control and Director of Finance, and that the Director of Finance is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of this resolution.
