Sorry for the brief response, but wanted to get it back to you today. Take care and be safe!!!
1. "Please give the Council some background information about yourself."
I was born and raised in North Kohala. I graduated from Kohala High School and
went to the Mainland for my higher education. I received my BSEE from Texas
A&M and pursued and finished my career in DoD, Dept. of the Navy. I had
worked with Missile Systems and Submarine Systems so have experience
managing projects and working with technical efforts. Budget and Level of Effort
type management is something that I have had some exposure to. My area of
expertise was technical/process problems and testing (materials and electronics).
2. "Why do you wish to serve on the Fire Commission?"
Since retiring back to Kohala, I was looking for a venue to contribute to the
community. The Fire Commission looked like a good fit for me as it has
some technical aspects to it (equipment, usage rates, budget management) and
has a problem set that I may have appropriate experience with. It was the
first choice for me as the public interface is more straight forward (it's an
essential service and is potentially not as controversial as other commissions).
Thank you for considering me for the Fire Commision.

Meeting on March 24.
