Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Bill No. 152, reports as follows:

Bill No. 152, transmitted by Finance Director Deanna Sako, via Communication No. 817 dated
March 6, 2020, amends Ordinance No. 19-73, as amended,the Operating Budget for the County of
Hawaii for the Fiscal Year ending June 30, 2020.
This bill increases revenues in the Federal Grants—Housing Choice Voucher Program account
($650,000); and appropriates the same to the Voucher Rental Subsidies account, for a total appropriation
of$19,227,430. Funds provided by the Department of Housing and Urban Development would be used
for rental assistance for eligible participants.
There was no discussion.
Pursuant to Hawaii County Charter Section 10-8, the Council may amend the operating budget at any
time during the fiscal year by ordinance up to the amount of available revenues.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Bili 152 and recommends its
passage on first reading.
