SUBJECT: Update from U.S. Senator Brian Schatz
By means of this communication,we are requesting 30 minutes for an update and discussion with
U.S. Senator Brian Schatz on federal efforts to respond to the coronavirus (COVID-19)pandemic
including resources available to the State and County of Hawai'i, and its people, via the Coronavirus
Aid,Relief, and Economic Security(CARES)Act and the Families First Coronavirus Response Act.
Please place this matter on the April 8, 2020 Council agenda; the Senator will join us via Zoom
9:30a.m. to 10:00a.m.
Given the limited time frame, all Council Members are asked to submit their questions for Senator
Schatz to the Council District 4 Office no later than Friday,April 3, 2020, end of business day. Email
questions to Council Member Kierkiewicz at ashley.kierkiewicz@hawaiicounty.gov. Questions will
be consolidated, tightened, and edited for clarity. In order to keep on the discussion on track, and to
respect the Senator's schedule, Council Member Kierkiewicz will read all questions into the record
and note the Council Member it originated from.
