Page 2 FC -31 April 8, 2020 Comm. 727: FISCAL YEAR 2020-2021 NONPROFIT GRANT REVIEW PROCESS AND FORMATION OF AN AD HOC COMMITTEE From Finance Committee Chair Maile David, dated January 23, 2020, describing the nonprofit grant review process and requesting formation of an ad hoc committee. The ad hoc committee would review applications and interview applicants for the County's annual nonprofit grant awards and then report its findings to the Finance Committee. Postponed: February 18, 2020 (Note: There is a motion by Ms. Poindexter, seconded by Ms. Villegas, to close file on Comm. 727 and all related communications.) ; and Comm. 727.1: From Finance Director Deanna S. Sako, dated February 12, 2020, transmitting the applications from eligible nonprofit organizations for fiscal year 2020-2021 for the Council's review and appropriation of funds. ; and Comm. 727.3: From Finance Director Deanna S. Sako, dated February 19, 2020, transmitting an application from Project Vision Hawaii and a revised list of organizations. ; and Comm. 727.4: From Finance Director Deanna S. Sako, dated February 27, 2020, transmitting an application from North Kohala Community Resource Center and a revised list of organizations. ; and Comm. 727.5: RECOMMENDATIONS FOR GRANT APPROPRIATIONS TO NONPROFIT ORGANIZATIONS From Finance Committee Chair Maile David, dated March 25, 2020, transmitting the ad hoc committee's recommendations for grant funding to nonprofit organizations for inclusion in the County of Hawaii Operating Budget for Fiscal Year 2020-2021. A total of 229 eligible applications were received with requests totaling $7,543,891. The recommendations have been developed through a review of all applications with each applicant. Each video submittal shall be limited to a single agenda item. Video submittals may contain up to three individual testifiers and shall each be up to three minutes in length. Video testimony will not be played during the meeting; however, it will be distributed to Council Members prior to the meeting. The Office of the County Clerk reserves the right to refuse testimony containing inappropriate content or that is not in compliance with Council Rule 13 (Public Statements and Testimony).
