As a employee of Wastewater what mitigation steps can we use to prevent group infection of the
limited amount of 10 Licensed operators who operate grade 1-4 wastewater plants and 8 pump stations
in East Hawaii. We also have 4 mechanics and 3 line crew members.We operate 365 days a year.
There should be discussion of splitting the shifts to prevent everyone from possible infection and having
no available operators.Which could lead to possible sewage spills, especially with continued heavy rain,
wet wipes being flushed and aging equipment and infrastructure.
We need to be proactive with this if we are considered essential to the county.
