But the window to take action is slamming shut due to inaction of our government officials. In order to avoid catastrophic consequences for our healthcare system,we need to encourage the powers that be to immediately: Enact a 14 day quarantine for anybody coming onto the island (and state). Stop stop all non-essential travel to the island (and state). Enforce strict closure of bars, restaurants, and other public places where the virus is likely to spread. Kick the mayor's stupid "Bugbusters" initiative to the curb and enact REAL preventative measures instead. We still might have a chance to get ahead of this, but soon our inaction will pave our future and it's going to suck. In my mind,this future will include many unforeseen consequences beyond the virus itself such as an increase in suicide rates, decline in mental wellness, physical wellness,etc, etc, etc... Help us.
