I teach high school science in Kailua-Kona and am isolating myself due to potential exposure through the 140+students,several of which recently traveled to New York city. Simply because we have minimal data for our island does not mean that we don't already have wide-spread community infections of COVID19. By continuing to ignore and not enforce strict isolation advisories to our community will only expedite the spread and result in the exponential curve we have seen over and over again. If our island can easily flatten the curve due to few actual cases, than we need to do this now! Why gamble with our families and community members we all value and love? The sooner we get this under control, the sooner we can all start to recover with minimal loss, both physically and economically. We need to close all parks, schools, and public areas,as well as restaurants and bars. We also need to limit number of people in and our of grocery and other essential stores to adhere to social distancing protocal. Please listen to our top medical professionals and the scientific data to stop the spread of this virus! Sincerely, Georgia Carroll Comm. No. (6147111 Ref.To: PI Mt Ref. Date MAR 2 0 2020
