We see how COVID-19 is spreading in other nations and among other states, we have an opportunity to decrease the spread on our Islands if we are vigilant and in unity with how we combat it! We need mandated social distancing, not "suggestions" in hopes that the community "does the right thing." Close local businesses, stop all non-essential airline travel, mandate 14 day quarantines for all incoming people to the Islands. TEST ANYONE WHO WANTS A TEST, since it's clear people can be asymptomatic and spread the disease. -And when someone tests positive, or is thought to have Covid-19, DON'T SEND THEM HOME, KEEP THEM ISOLATED!!! These "guidelines" are preposterous. People will not follow them, and businesses will stay open because they have rent to pay, and employees will continue to go to work because they have bills to pay and children to feed. Instead of guidelines, they should be making business closures mandatory, so that employers and employees will both receive the aid they deserve in this time, instead of feeling forced to be socially responsible at your own financial loss. Shame on Governor David Ige and Mayor Harry Kim for caring more about tourists and our economy than the health of our community. No economy or paycheck is worth someone else's life. If the government closes local business, federal and state financial assistance will be extended. Social distancing on an individual level is the responsible thing to do, but small businesses don't get financial support, especially from their insurance, unless it's government mandated. Our government owes it to us to shut things down and support us. Our economy may fold for a bit, but it can bounce back. You can't raise the dead. Aloha State, protect your kupuna. Your. elders, your parents and grandparents. Your aunties and uncles. DO THE RIGHT THING AND STAY HOME! Mahalo, Heather Carvalho Comm. No. 14107- Ref. u'02Ref. To: NM- Ref. M-Ref. Date Mm 2 0 ZUZU
