Aloha county council, my name is Sita Hale and I am a sophomore at Kealakehe High School. I
believe the big island is not taking this virus seriously. I feel there should be stricter rules and
guidance for public facilities. And wider spread testing because this will help us understand
where we're at and what more we can do. Also the mayor encouraged teenagers to congregate
in clean places. This is absolute madness, we aren't supposed to be in groups because that's
how COVID-19 spreads. And an environment isn't going to remain clean because it's the people
not the place that determine the cleanliness. I don't understand why our leadership is
encouraging kids to endanger themselves, their families, and their kupuna. There are going to
be economic sacrifices in order to beat this virus, but by doing so we'll save lives. And maybe it
means teenagers like me are stuck in the house, that's ok because I know that it's for the
greater good of keeping our community and kupuna safe.
Sincerely,
Y
Sita Hale
