We are following guidelines, washing, distancing,we are staying home with my immuno-compromised elders in the downstairs ohana and separating our family upstairs. We are doing our part to keep us and our family and friends safe. The threat is real-we've seen the impact of what this virus can do unchecked in other communities and how it has completely overwhelmed bigger populace's than ours...ones with more resources at their disposal. I am writing because I am simply concerned for my family, friends, elders, basically my island home because this island is not doing enough. Please can we learn from the rest of the world before it is too late and do our part to lessen the curve for our island? I understand the economic impact on Hawaii of closing down businesses or parks or areas where people congregate - I get it. I get it for the world. But protecting our people is more important, period. Businesses will have to shift how they serve others. People will have to help each other in new ways.We will come together as we always do to support each other as best we can.We will bounce back eventually;yes it will take time. But making this decision NOW is the right thing to do. Mahalo, Karen Comm. No. $14101 Ref. To: Pluft Ref. Date MAR 2 0 2Q20
