Working in the Hawaii industry for over 30 years as a Director of Sales (Hotel
industry) , We have come to depend on Tourism to sustain our existence in the
islands. Its a fine line we take when we address the concern of spreading the Corona
Virus. We need to make it clear to our visitors that it is not a direct attack on them but
a concern for the preservation of our island and its inhabitants. Most do not even
know if they are carrying the virus. So in fairness to them lets avoid harsh treatment
of our guest but educate them to know that they can make a negative contribution to
the safety of our islanders. Don't address it with our visitors directly. Take matters
into our own hands and address it with the airlines. Guest cannot come to the islands
if they are not transported via airlines. Limit the flights to only necessary business
and medical travel. Inter-island travel should be open to only those that have business
or medical travel responsibilities. Next step contact Businesses to limit their-travel.
Educators and small business owners are making the same sacrifices.
And lastly Pray and deal in charity towards all for the end of this pandemic.

From a Business Leader that has contributed to the economy of Hawaii for many
years. I pray that we will be kind to each other. But especially to our Kupuna's by
allowing them access first to the necessities of life.
All this will pass and the decisions we make now will effect our future.
